COVID-19 Response
As part of our organisation’s response to COVID-19, Essential Water has made proactive changes within their business to protect our team, assets and the community.
Essential Water has a central role in the community keeping the town of Broken Hill and surrounding areas supplied with safe drinking water and sewage services.
Essential Water’s staff are starting from home, and team start and finish times have been staggered where required. Essential maintenance continues on water treatment plants, however restrictions are in place to prevent unnecessary entry to control rooms.
For staff who remain at Essential Water sites, the importance of sticking to the hygiene protocols and social distancing are being emphasised. Additional cleaning of the premises is being undertaken, and staff isolate from cleaning staff when they attend. Sites have been closed to the public and non-essential contractors.
To minimise contact with the public, staff have placed a locked box in a publicly accessible area to enable customers to submit hard copy documents in a contactless way. In addition, all invoices and timesheets are being sent and received by email.
Office closure
The Essential Water Office at Block 10, Blende Street will be closed to the public until further notice due to advice regarding COVID-19.
